A Thoughtful Process, From First Idea to Final Form

I’m Sam, the person behind YESO. Every piece begins with a simple question: What would I love to have in my own home?

An idea becomes a collection of notes, a moodboard and an initial drawing. From there, I begin developing the form itself, creating and refining prototypes until the proportions, details and overall feel are just right. Only then do I make the moulds used to cast each new design.

Each YESO piece is hand-poured in small batches from a porous, stone-like composite, then carefully hand-finished to bring out its individual character. An embossed YESO emblem beneath each piece and a soft felt base are considered finishing touches, designed to protect your surfaces while keeping the object beautiful from every angle.

The same thoughtfulness extends to the way each order is wrapped. Textured paper and softly fragranced tissue are chosen to create a tactile, considered experience, making the moment of unwrapping feel like part of the piece itself.

At YESO, I create sculptural home fragrance objects inspired by flowers, natural textures and warm interiors.

Designed to be both decorative and functional, each collection brings together fragrance, craftsmanship and considered design. 

Every object begins as an original sculpture before being individually hand-finished in small batches, allowing the character of the material to remain visible in every piece.

The collections are created to become part of everyday life, placed on a bedside table, displayed on a favourite shelf, welcoming guests into a boutique hotel or offered as a thoughtful gift. 

Rather than following seasonal trends, the focus remains on timeless forms that sit comfortably within calm, warm interiors.

The story of YESO begins with a fascination for sculptural form.

Inspired by botanical silhouettes, architectural simplicity and the subtle textures found in nature, the collection has grown through a process of careful observation, experimentation and refinement. Every design begins as an original sculpture before evolving into an object that brings together decoration and fragrance in equal measure.

The intention has always remained the same: to create pieces that become part of everyday rituals rather than passing trends. Whether displayed within a contemporary home, a boutique hotel or a thoughtfully curated retail space, each object is designed to contribute a sense of calm through its form, material and fragrance.

Behind the Collection

Every YESO object follows a considered journey from initial idea to finished piece.

The process begins with original sculptural forms, carefully developed through modelling, refinement and repeated testing until proportion, balance and texture feel complete. 

Once the design is finalised, each object is individually cast, hand-finished and prepared in small batches, allowing subtle variations to become part of its natural character.

The final stage introduces fragrance. 

A few drops of essential oil or a gentle mist of room spray transform the sculptural form into an object that engages both the senses and the surrounding space.

Every step reflects an appreciation for slower craftsmanship, thoughtful materials and timeless design.
